Xinyu is currently finishing up his Ph.D. program at University of Illinois at Chicago. His research focuses on different roles of Akt isoforms in breast tumor initiation, progression and metastasis. After he joins Peltz’ group, he will work on validating gene functions in mouse models, especially genes involved in cancer biology.

In his spare time, he enjoys music and playing violin.
